Nucleare theme help

Hi there. Ever since I accidentally removed Sela and couldn’t get it back, I’ve been struggling to find a good theme for me. I finally settled on Nucleare but I’m still struggling with some issues.
1) My posts are appearing as snippets on the homepage, which I like, but then when I go to the category pages the posts are appearing as full posts. Is there a way to change this so that they appear as snippets?
2) Featured photos – I figured out how to get the featured photos on the home page, but then when I go to the specific blog post that same featured photo is HUGE before the blog post. Is there any way to keep them on the home page but remove them from the individual blog posts?

You may switch back to Sela in WP-Admin, at Appearance > Themes. -
1) There is no setting at Customize for excerpts on the Nucleare theme, so displaying excerpts on the automatically displayed category pages isn’t possible. A workaround would be to create custom category pages by inserting Blog Posts Blocks into static pages, customized in each case to display only a certain category.
2) Featured images automatically display at 810 pixels width on single posts on the Nucleare theme. So if your file image is square, it will display as a 810 pixel square. The easiest way to avoid this would be to use landscape oriented images, where the width is greater than the height. For example: a width to height ration of 3:2 would give you a displayed image of dimensions 810 x 540 pixels.
Hiding the featured image on Nucleare would require CSS customization. Sela, on the other hand, does allow you to hide featured images on single posts. This would done by unchecking the box labeled “Display on single posts” at Customize > Content Options > Featured Images.
