nude photography – is it allowed around here?
-
so people, im a photographer(besides other things) and I am dealing a lot with nude photography. So i was wondering If i want to post in my blogs any art nude photos, will this be allowed or ill be kicked out of here?
im not sure if everyone can distinguish porn from nude photography or fetish. So i wouldnt like to get reported or anything.
please enlighten me.

Possibly. Likely, but not necessarily.
Staff are the ones who make the call, and they appreciate it if bloggers submit their own blogs for consideration as Mature. Just go to your own blog, and click on the Blog Info on your admin bar. There is Report as Mature there, and just click that and let staff know it’s your blog and you want to make sure it’s okay.
Getting set as Mature doesn’t interfere with your search engine results, etc; it does take you off the global tag/category pages for WP.com and makes your name unclickable in the forum.

THEY MUST NOT BE CENSURED!
As long as whom ever’s body it is has given their consent to place it in a public domain
As long as they are not sexual/lude – for the sake of the children
If they are – then they must be designated to adult
but not deleted or removed
this would be censorship par excellance!
FREEDOM OF CHOICE to see or not to see if we are adults.By mystifying the body by designating it to the proverbial closet – we perpetuate all kinds of hang-ups – As if there is something wrong with it
It usually is religion that steps in to censor nudity and links it with sex
Arnold Toynbee the great British historian – Said something to the effect that humans
are for ever trying to show that they are not animals – hence the elaborate things we do to show this difference
Unfortunately we are wired up in such a way that we can behave a whole lot worse than they do!
But we are ‘sophisticated” animals no matter what way you put it
We have language and history which makes us different
As we have created the mess we are in it means that we can sort it out too
Such a releif!
whoooops
Sorry – i don’t half carry on! [ another of the foibals of being human for some of us…….] -
@angelfetus
make sure you pay your models well!
and get them to sign a form giving you permission to publish them
and if you make money from them being on your blog – advertising from your massive numbers of hits – they must get royalties!
as long as you’re ethical it can’t be a problem and it’s none of anyone else’s business!it really irritates me that photographs of naked people have to be called art photography
ps
why don’t you do some research on pornography and let us know what you found out?!one thing that has been proven and loads of research done on the effects of children being exposed to pornographic images
it affects them in the same way as if they have been sexually abused -
helene, you do not understand.
Blogs set as mature are not censored. They are just not hooked into the global tag pages. DIFFERENT.
-
Also: you do understand that “NO CENSORSHIP” and “PROTECT CHILDREN FROM PORN” are completely contradictory. Right?

global? tag pages
pls xplain……if a post or blog is tagged mature/adult where are they ‘hidden’?
and what’s to stop kids opening them?so if these are tagged adult/mature ie. if they are degrading to women and men or are sexual or lude ….
the ones that are NOT the above the naked bodies should NOT be taged adult – as they are not harmful to kids
and the rest of us adults can choose to look or not
betta?!protect kids = they can’t access them ie the ‘blue’ ones only – as they are not adults
that’s what i mean its fine for them to look at the naked body/ies
its part of growing up……
but if there are no images of naked bodies it spells out that there is something wrong with nudity wouldn’t you say?i’ve often heard and seen in the media how very prudish American society is with nudity but no problems showing mindless violence most of which is dished out to women too. great for children to see – we just keep perpetuating the same old stuff ad nausium… what was that about madness? doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result

This isn’t the place to get into a debate on the nature of censorship. It’s a photographer trying to get an answer to her question.

When you have an issue that is completely unrelated to the issue being discussed, start a new thread for it if you can’t find a preexisting one on that subject.
When you want to have a philosophical discussion, have it in the Off Topic forum or on your blog.

so if i put my blog in mature filter that sets my whole blog in a mature filter so therefore it excludes it from everything?
like tags and stuff?
what if i simply want to post some nude art photos only in a few pages of my blog and not in all of it?
and if my blog is then off the tag/categories and my name wont be clickable, then how will anyone read my blog?! I mean.. whats the point in that? -
No, your blog is not excluded from “everything.”
Like I said, contact staff and ask about the pictures. Nudes are not necessarily Mature-making material.
Setting a blog to Mature removes it from category/tag pages and makes your name unclickable. That’s IT. Nothing else.
If you’re not on category/tag pages and your name’s not clickable, people will still find your blog. You can do normal blog promotion, you can Digg your own blog, you will still be visible on search engines, etc, etc, etc. It’s like having a blog anywhere else.
Frankly, I am finding tags and categories increasingly useless on my blog. I honestly cannot recall the last time I got a single hit from one of them, and apparently I’m not banned from them. I can see myself there.

angelfetus – start your blog and use it as you intend to. Then use the link in the top right of the admin bar and ‘report as mature’. Nothing automatically will happen but I will then get in touch. It’s so much easier to answer and explain when there is actual content.
That help? -
