Number appears/changes on WordPress internet tab?

Haven’t seen anything addressing it . . . this: (1) will appear, and gradually creep up . . . is this my number of views? Number of new blog posts? Anyone know? I don’t always see a number, so just wondered . . . .

Are you asking about the number in your admin bar next to your name on the right-hand side of your screen?
That is just supposed to let you know that there is a comment of contact for you to look at. Nothing to do with the number of views or new posts…
Seems not to be quite working sometimes, probably because of cache issues. IMO (only) it does not seem very useful… -

No, that’s orange, I’ve seen that from time to time. I’m talking the actual internet tab when I’m using Firefox that shows my WordPress tab (amongst other sites open), and suddenly next to WordPress.com on the left it’ll say (1) – then it progresses as time goes on – right now it’s @ 21.

Sorry. She scratches her head. I’m using Firefox but don’t see anything like that. May could be another volunteer would know. Or could you post a screenshot?
Do you have add-ons for Firefox? -
That shows WordPress updates relating to your blog, ie somebody Liked a post or Reblogged it. If you hover over it in Chrome it drops down to show you what’s new. Not sure how it works on FF.
