Number of clicks recorded by statistics seems far too low

    Hi
Most of my content on http://creationtonewcreation.com is in the form of PDFs downloadable from my blog. I would expect more people who find my site to be clicking on at least one PDF download, as that’s where the content is. But the number of clicks on links on my blog recorded in the Statistics is very small, compared to the number of hits. What does this statistic record, and are all the clicks to open PDFs on my site being recorded, do you think?
    Many thanks, Rob

    Hi there,

There is a long-standing issue with what is called “click-through” and “site penetration.” Basically, it is the difficulty that sites have with not just getting users to visit their sites, but to also make use of the additional services/links/etc which they provide.

In this case, it appears that while people are viewing your site, they are not necessarily taking the time to view the PDFs which you are providing.

You may want to consider making website versions of your PDFs and still having them available for download for those who wish a copy, or you can try to drum up interest in your site in other ways.
