Number of followers

  In the subscribe widget on my front page it says I have 65 followers. However, when I go to my stats there are 37 followers of my blog and 14 twitter followers (a total of 51 followers). How is this possible?

  If you use publicize then your Twitter followers are being added to your WordPress.com followers and as stats are not real time and there is time delay in updating cached information that could explain the number differences.

  No. Publicize is for autoposting to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr and Yahoo.
