number of followers on wordpress?

  On the right (widgets) you can register to follow our site and stay informed of new updates!

  He now says – Join 358 other followers –

  But in admin area only 5 followers are visible. I tried to follow with a different email address and it counts the new follower but in admin it just stays at 5! What could be the problem? Can anyone help?

  The site runs on the wordpress.com server, “abbo personal”

  That is correct, you have 5 email followers, but that is not the only way to follow your site. If someone who is following your site also happens to have a WordPress.com account, they can also follow the site in the WordPress.com reader. We list the followers separately here:
  https://wordpress.com/people/followers/positiveoutdoor365.com

  Also I see you connected your Twitter account, so that you are sharing website updates to your Twitter account, which has 351 followers at the moment: https://wordpress.com/marketing/connections/positiveoutdoor365.com

  Please be aware that we count your Twitter followers as well. They do not see your site updates in their email, but they do see it in their twitter feed. So your total follower account is:

  5 email followers
  2 WordPress.com followers
  351 Twitter followers
  ——–
  = 358 total followers of your site

  That is why you see that number on your widget, and it helps let visitors know that you have many more followers than just the ones that give you an email address to sign up.

  Hai Jerry,

  Take a moment to think about what you said. But if I sign up for the email updates with a different email address for a test, I don’t see that with those 5 email followers in my admin area! Is this correct then? I still have the feeling that something is wrong somewhere. ;)

  If the email address belongs to a WordPress.com account, it’ll still be listed as a WordPress.com Follower.

  What was the email address you tried?

  We still show that subscription to positiveoutdoor365.com as “pending” status. Are you sure you’ve completed the process for following that site through that WordPress.com account? Check and let us know please.

  Hi Chris,

  You should’ve received an email to confirm the follow. If you can’t find that email message look at your spam folder.
