Number of likes on Facebook widget not appearing

Hi!
The number of likes for the Facebook, Twitter, Google +, etc. widgets aren’t appearing on my blog posts. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance!

It only keeps track of shares not likes. :(
I just shared one of your posts and the counter did count that:

Thanks for looking into this for me! I appreciate it!
I did see that post had been shared. I recently changed my blog address and transfered all the blog material from my old site onto the new one (thetimesforafeast.wordpress.com). Previously, under the blog, “Portraits” it had shown 500 + shares. I thought maybe it would need a day or two to be updated…but those numbers still aren’t there. Is there any way to fix that?

Unfortunately, I don’t think there is. :( But I’m going to tag this for staff just to make sure. My guess is that that counter is actually maintained by Facebook and is based upon the number of shares for the particular URL. Since the new site has a new URL for the post, the counter reset. I understand that’s a really bummer, though, loosing all those shares!

This is exactly correct. FB shares are based on the URL. If the URL changes, the share count resets.
