Number of posts showing on home page

  I use Triton Lite and have set the number of posts on my home page/blog roll as 7. I make the first one sticky. On the first page of my home roll, this shows up as one major story and six other ones (exactly how I want it) but on the second page, it shows up as the sticky major story and seven other ones. I have tried changing the parameter to six but this just reduces one story on the first page.

  Any idea how I can get the second page to look like the first?
