number of subscribers in follow box

I can’t seem to find where I should go to disable the number of followers showing up in the Follow box for the logged-out users? (the box which is on the right hand side bottom of the site).

The numbers are not matching by any means and it isn’t worth confusing the readers.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to Dashboard>Widgets>Follow blog widget and deselect “show total number of followers” to hide your total number of followers.
The difference is may be due to the exclusion of number of Twitter followers.

The above setting only hides the number of followers on the Email widget, which is different than the Follow box (which shows up only for logged-out users). I am looking for the option to disable the number of followers on the Follow box.

You mean the “+ Follow” on the bottom right corner? The last time I looked, there was no option to hide the number of followers. However, you can hide that box altogether by going to Settings > Reading and ticking the box “Hide follow button for logged out users”.

Well, that is confusing. Both the email widget and the follow widget does the same exact thing (subscribes people to receive email) and if we can disable the count on one than why can’t we disable the count on other as well? It is unfortunate because from my blog’s perspective, the count is totally misleading and inaccurate and for some odd reasons, it has been fluctuating up and down. I think showing of number of subscriber is a good feature and I do wish to keep it, but it has not been consistent.
