Number of subscribers vs followers

I recently added the option to subscribe to my site who seem to show up as members of my team and not followers. The team number grows a lot with each post but the followers remain static (and low). What is the real number of people looking at my blog?

Would you please let us know where on that site you’ve added the follow option?
I’m not seeing anything there besides the already built-in item at the bottom-right.
