Numbers after Comments and Overwhelmingly Appreciative Comments

  So I have been seeing a lot of comments that have numbers after the last full stop like 653472. I have always assumed that they are a kind of spam, but I am not sure anymore because some look like real comments. For instance:
  “Hmm is anyone else experiencing difficulties with the images on this weblog loading? I�m trying to locate out if its a difficulty on my finish or if it is the weblog. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. 682729”

  Also I have been getting overwhelmingly nice comments and I’m not sure if they are spam or real. I can see why someone would post some kind of comment that links to their website, but often times there is nothing like that but they are just making me seem like a perfect person. Is there something else than the text of a comment that could help these people in some way? Or maybe people just really like my stuff. One example of such comments would be:
  “I used to be recommended this web site by means of my cousin. I am not sure whether this post is written by way of him as no one else understand such designated about my problem. You’re incredible! Thanks!”

  Those are spam. The main tipoff is that they don’t relate at all to the content of the posts, they just say generalized flattering things. And the numbers are definite spam indicators: spammers use them to keep track of where they’ve spammed and what has and hasn’t been deleted.
