Numbers of ROWS and COLUMNS – Can I control/set that?

  I am curious to know how to configure numbers of rows and columns. As it stands, I have an odd numbered grid of 10 images. I would like to have a balanced grid of 9; or increase the bottom row to include 2 more images for a grid of 12. I can’t seem to figure this out.   You set the number of posts per page in Settings > Reading.
