Obtaining a Inactive Account Username

    I have been relentlessly trying to obtain a username by a account that has not been active since september of 2009 from someone in Indonesia. I have made multiple upon multiple attempts to contact this person even in indonesian and no luck. Can anyone help me or guide me in the right direction in obtaining this persons inactive account? I have a business to run and i am in need of that username. Thanks you for your time and patience.

    Hello there, Staff answered this question in the thread you opened a couple of months ago.

    If that user hasn’t replied to your requests to transfer the username/site to you, then nothing further can be done to obtain it. WordPressdotcom will not contact the user on your behalf.

    Sorry that probably isn’t the answer you were hoping for.

    Hi alltekgamer,

    What @justjennifer mentioned is correct — we cannot make changes to an account or site without the owners permission so if they do not reply, we won’t be able to intervene or contact them on your behalf.

    The alternative would be to use a variation of that username instead.
