Obtaining Old or Unused Domains

If you cannot get in touch with the person who owns a domain you’d like transferred to you, is there anyway WordPress can contact them? I know the terms say that WordPress won’t remove/transfer domains regardless of how long it’s been since the last post and if it looks abandoned. Are there any other avenues to take in order to obtain a domain that’s already been used by an inactive user? Thank you!

We don’t contact site owners on behalf of other people who want to use their WordPress.com address, no.
Unless you’re able to contact the owner via a comment form, contact form or contact details provided on their site and they agree to transfer the site to you, there is no way you can obtain ownership of the site. We do not reassign existing sites or usernames to new users under any circumstances.
