Occasionally disabling email alerts for subscribers

Couldn’t easily find the answer, sorry.

I have a lot of subscribers at my blog, and long story short, I will be flooding the blog with a lot more content that will not be relevant to some of them. Is there any way that I can disable the automatic emails they get on a case-by-case basis, or will I just have to temporarily make the site go dark, post, and then bring it up again?

It would be even better if I could create two separate groups and denote which group should get the notifications for each post, but I’ll take what I can get.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s up to your subscribers to make the choice of how frequently they wish your posts to be emailed to them. They can choose to receive email or instant message notifications of new posts instantly, daily, or weekly. See > Edit List next to Following to change your subscription delivery methods. I’m sorry but there is no way to do that.

Thanks much for the quick reply, timethief. I’ll let my subscribers know of the impending storm.
