occupied domain

we had a website which is not available anymore. I want to buy the domain again but it is not possible since it is registered and currently not active on wordpress.com. the email address we used was also on the same domain, (email visible only to moderators and staff). now both the account and the email address plus the website dont exist anymore. how can I set the domain free again to be bought again? I have only a purchase bill from paypal which shows the transaction for the domain. that is all.

It seems that nobody is able to help. WordPress.com is literary useless these days. I moved on to another service in order not to have the same problems in the future. The forum is a scam gathering place. No real human ready to help, only if I pay hundreds of dollars I can get access to professional help, that is not an option for someone who just wants a 20 dollar domain back! It is ridiculous. I just don’t want to visit wordpress.com and its forum anymore
