  Can’t format homepage to show content/right side bar. Customization works on the ‘blog’ page, but not on the home page.

  It looks like you might be on a self-hosted site with SiteGround, is that correct? While self-hosted sites are awesome, this forum is for WordPress.com hosted sites, which are slightly different from self-hosted sites.
