odd differences between blogs
-
i have two active blogs: olduino.wordpress.com, and electricbill.home.blog. i don’t know how the second one got it’s name, i must have set it up differently.
the issue is that if i visit olduino.wordpress.com, it recognizes me as the site owner and i can just click “write” in the top right to start a new post. if i visit electricbill.home.blog it doesn’t recognize me the same way. to start a new post i have to go through the olduino site, click “switch sites” and navigate that way.
I don’t know if this is clear but i’d appreciate any suggestions
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
It looks like you are using Google Chrome as your browser, so with this in mind I would like you to try the following:
– clear your cache and cookies based on the steps google recommends here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050
– Also make sure you are not blocking any “3rd party cookies” as explained in that guide as well.
– If you continue to have loading issues after completing those steps, I would like you to try another browser instead, like Firefox. Are you able to proceed if you use a browser other than Chrome? To clarify, there can be an issue where your login info is not correctly saved in Chrome, and that can prevent you from easily moving between sites, publishing posts, and other odd behavor where you see “permissions” error messages.
Thanks for the additional info! -
ah. Ok. Thanks very much.
it was certainly something browser/cookie related. MS Edge does not show the issue.
For bonus points do you know why the blog domains names are so different? I have a couple of other sites that follow the xxx.wordpress.com pattern but electricbill.home.com seems so different.
Thanks again

This is because when you registered those .blog subdomains you were presented with the option to do so.
