Oddly rendered image
-
Hey all!
The final image on my page is rendering… strangely. It’s difficult to describe, but basically, rather than displaying the image it’s rendering what almost resembles a collage of my page content. I tried clearing my cache to no avail. I’m using the latest version of Chrome as my browser on a 2011 MacBook Pro. The image renders correctly when I test it on Chrome on a 2021 MacBook Pro. It also renders fine on mobile in Safari.
Any thoughts on this? (Maybe you can’t even see it on your end.)
As always, thanks!

all of your images look normal so it must be a local problem with your browser or inetrnet connection.

Hi @kmarler
2011 is pretty old in “computer years” so I’m thinking that is likely the issue here, especially since you mention that content loads correctly on your newer MacBook.
Given the age of your 2011 computer, I’m not sure we’ll be able to help from this end, but can you visit this page (with your older computer) and copy down the sharing link you see there?

This will give us some extra troubleshooting info about your computer. Also you mentioned Safari was an issue on the older computer. What if you use a different browser like Chrome or Firefox instead? Is the same issue there as well?
Thanks for the additional info!

Hi staff-totoro
I hear ya! It’s practically from the stone age!
Here’s the link you asked for: https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/b/72AG0
I apologize for any confusion, but Chrome is the browser I am using that’s giving me difficulty. Safari renders the page just fine on my computer.

Hello there,
It most likely is the age of the device at play here.
We can do some other basic pieces of troubleshooting to help confirm this is the case.
1. Does this happen with any other WiFi networks?
2. Are there any browser extensions installed on the browser when this happens? Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for confirming. It does sound like things are not compatible with your current OS and hardware anymore since you are on the latest version of Chrome.
I’d recommend using Safari from here on out or just know that the images won’t look right on your laptop if you use Chrome.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
