ODT file upload problem
-
Trying to upload a .odt file but I get the message ‘Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.’ According to the accepted file types, I should be able to upload this file.

OK, I uploaded my file to your link. It’s a simple story with pictures of a car I used to own. Let me know if you can figure out that error code I was getting; because it would sure be easier to upload this directly to a new post, rather than trying to copy/paste each block separately.

Thanks, although it doesn’t look like the file has been added, could you please check again?

Uploaded it again, the progress counter said 200% and then it said “Completed”, so maybe you’ll get 2 copies now.
Thanks!

Thank you, I can see it now!
So I have been able to upload the file to your media library without any issues. You can check it from there.Your recent comment, however, made me think that maybe we misunderstood each other. Was your idea to upload the file directly into your post so it would display the text and the images, instead of typing it?
If so, I’m afraid this will not work. Text files can be added to your media library and you can share them in your posts and pages as links (you can add a button or an image link) so they will open for anyone that clicks on them, but they won’t be embedded. If you’d like to embed a document, you could do that with a PDF: https://wordpress.com/support/embedding-a-pdf-file/

Thank you for the clarification. Yes, I was hoping to upload/import the document directly into a post, thus avoiding having to write it twice. For this one, I ended up copy/pasting the text, then copy/pasting each image individually (apparently it can’t do a CONTROL-A/copy/paste. No worries though, these stories are not too complicated. https://hemibill.wordpress.com/2020/03/26/my-green-71-charger-r-t/
Thanks again,
