oEmbed from LearningApps.org
-
We created a new service for schools called learningapps.org which is similar to youtube just for interactive learning content. Users already complained that they cannot embed there created apps in there WordPress blogs hosted on wordpress.com. We tried to provide an oEmbed API with XML without success yet. We are not sure if we did the oEmbed stuff correctly so are there any test pages available to validate it?
This is an example request:
http://learningapps.org/oembed.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Flearningapps.org%2Fdisplay%3Fv%3Df8t8mkza&format=xmlWe used (inside the pages):
<link rel=”alternate” href=”http://learningapps.org/oembed.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Flearningapps.org%2Fdisplay%3Fv%3Df8t8mkza&format=xml” type=”application/xml+oembed” />Is oEmbed discovery turned on automatically on hosted blogs or is there a whitelist which will block our service anyway? If there is a whitelist, is there a form we could fill to get on this list or some other possiblilty to add our service?
Thanks in advance for any help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks for the links, but they not realy say anything about the oembed feature. WordPress 2.9 introduced oEmebed in order to easily embed YouTube videos or similar content by just copy&paste the URL.
WordPress.com added the official.fm support of oembed to add there player. Is there any option to get to this whitelist too? If this is not possible (guess many services might ask for this option) I can understand it and we will tell our users that they shall host there own blog in order to do that.
