off Site Redirect Redirecting Everything to Home Page

  • Unknown's avatar

The domain of my old website was https://avatarthelegendofkorra.wordpress.com/

The domain of my new website is https://avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com

I recently purchased the off-site redirect and the home page of my old blog nicely redirects to the home page of my new blog. However, if you click the link for a post from my OLD blog on Google, it does not re direct you to the same post on my NEW blog. It redirects you to the home page of my NEW blog.

Here is an example of a link from my old blog: http://avatarthelegendofkorra.wordpress.com/2012/09/21/m-night-shyamalan-could-start-working-on-the-last-airbender-2-in-2013/

As you can see, you are redirected to the home page rather than the actual blog post even though it still exists. See: avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com/2012/09/21/m-night-shyamalan-could-start-working-on-the-last-airbender-2-in-2013/

    What is the issue here?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By the way I am using the Day/Post permalink, just like my WordPress.com blog has.

    Not sure but:

    The link you posted above:
    http://avatarthelegendofkorra.wordpress.com/2012/09/21/m-night-shyamalan-could-start-working-on-the-last-airbender-2-in-2013/

    Resolves to:
    http://www.http.com//avatarthelegendofkorraonline.com//2012/09/21/m-night-shyamalan-could-start-working-on-the-last-airbender-2-in-2013/

When I correct for the extra “//www.http.com” I am on the correct Post

Try looking at the site redirect and double check for how you entered the blog you are trying to redirect to and see if there is anything extra that is adding the spare parts of the address

    Hi there!

It looks like the redirect is working properly for you. Did you edit your site redirect settings to remove the http:// from your redirect address?

Let me know if you still need help.
