Off Site Widget Addition
-
I want to add a widget from Trip Advisor and each time I place the code into my WordPress site I get only the picture but none of the text.
This is the code supplied by Trip Advisor which I had no trouble inserting in my FrontPage site that is currently operational.
<div id=”TA_excellent633″ class=”TA_excellent”><ul id=”OU5bVa” class=”TA_links wLv9w3iScpIY”><li id=”MMdU9yIgPcE” class=”MOJrOZ”><img src=”http://e2.tacdn.com/img2/widget/tripadvisor_logo_115x18.gif” alt=”TripAdvisor” class=”widEXCIMG” id=”CDSWIDEXCLOGO”/></div><script src=”http://www.jscache.com/wejs?wtype=excellent&uniq=633&locationId=588122&lang=en_CA&display_version=2″></script>
Is there a wa y to make this work or am I only able to insert an existing “widget” into my site on WordPress.com?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry but the code is JavaScript and the software will strip the code out to preserve security as this is a multiuser blogging platform.

Here is a workaround that you may want to use. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-install-a-trip-advisor-widget?replies=2

So if I understand this correctly after reading both your responses, even if embedded in a css block all I will get is the actual Trip Advisor logo but none of the interactive content?

Hi again,
CSS editing cannot be used for that purpose. What I posted above stands. We cannot use JavaScript. There is a workaround and I linked to it above.
Best wishes with your blog.
