Offer a free seasonal effect (such as snow falling) to sites

  I’ve been wondering how to add the snow fall effect to my site during winter months. Seems there are plug-ins that allow you to do this but even though I have a premium plan, whenever I click on ‘plug-ins’ on WordPress, I get a button asking me if I want to open a store on my site. Not wanting to open a store, just wanting to get the snowfall effect. Is there a simple, secure way to do this on WordPress dot com sites?

  You cannot add any JavaScript, iframes or plugins.

  The snow effect is a seasonal feature that can be turned on in Dashboard > Settings > General every Christmas season on WordPress.com blogs.

  When the time is right for it you will be able to go to your dashboard.
  Navigate to Settings → General.
  Check the box next to “Show falling snow on this blog.”
