Offer AddThis plugin
-
AddThis is a sharing and analytics service I used for free when I was using blogger. I’m shocked that there isn’t a way as far as I have seen to use it on WordPress.com

We don’t need that plugin. Here’s the link to our relevant support doc for wordpress.COM hosted blogs > http://support.wordpress.com

You either purchase the Business upgrade for $299 US per year or you don’t have access to Google Analytics.
Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality. You are confusing WordPress.ORG and WordPress.COM. For that type of functionality you’d need a self-hosted site running on a paid web hosting service.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/We have some built in plugins as you can see by clicking this link http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
If what’s offered by wordpress.COM does not suit you you can hire a web host http://wordpress.ORG/hosting and set up your own wordpress.ORG software install.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Thank you for the quick reply.
I am completely aware of the difference between wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG, so please don’t patronize me. I was merely saying that AddThis is a very useful plugin (saying you don’t need it because you already have sharing buttons is like saying you don’t need a motorcycle because you already have a bicycle), and WordPress.com says that if there is a plugin I think they should have, I should recommend it. I’m not sure why you wrote a book at me about the difference between wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG. I get it.

I’m not patronizing you and I don’t expect to be insulted when I prepare and post any detailed response. That’s because no rude self defensive passive aggressive snark is allowed on these forums. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-community-standards?replies=1

Well I am sorry I misunderstood your response earlier. I thought I was only following the guidelines WordPress have to suggest adding a new plugin that I would really like. I felt insulted because instead of considering that I might have something positive to suggest , all I saw from you was basically a description of the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and so I lashed out a bit. If you only meant to help than I apologize for assuming you were patronizing me.

There is no “if”. I am here to help and I have a zero tolerance when it comes to abuse. You added the “if” which of course is meant to negate the apology so I don’t accept it. You are dismissed.
