    Hi.
    1) What will determine any price increase between my upgrade now and when it comes to renewal?
    2) The first part of the ‘upgrade’ asks for all my payment details, but what if my domain name is unavailable? Will that mean you have billed me and then I should go through the lengthy process of claiming my money back?

    What will determine any price increase between my upgrade now and when it comes to renewal?

    That’s a good question, nothing like having to deal with annoying introductory offers only to find out the price is double on renewal. Generally speaking, our pricing hasn’t increased (more than about $1) in the past 5 years. We have taken the approach that it’s better to add additional value rather than continually adjust prices.

    For example, we launched the WordPress.com Personal plan, added the ability to add plugins to Business all without raising our plan prices.

    In the event that we do decide to raise our prices this year, and you decide not to review we strongly believe our users own their data. We allow site owners to export their site’s content, transfer their domain, and the open source WordPress project means you have many hundreds of hosting options.

    It sounds like you may have been burnt by another company here too. We provide a no questions asked refund for the first 30 days on everything except domains which have a 2 day refund period. Site owners are even able to refund upgrades themselves without needing to reach out to staff.
