It will depend on where exactly you’ll be moving. You can export all your content any time as an xml file:

Ok, so i still have to pay for a plan if i already have a domain?
Mapping it? if i choose the free or lowest price can i upgrade later?
Exporting, will i be able to export my domain and add it to a competitors web platform so my site shows up elsewhere?

You do need a paid plan if you want to use a custom domain here, that includes any paid plan, even the least expensive.
You can direct your domain anywhere you’d like to.
