  im trying to start a new site i bought the a domain on hostgator an have hosting and wordpress just told me to map it for 13$ an now it wants me to change my server names did i just spend unnecessary money? how do i change the nameservers

  i did see your early reply. i upgraded to premium account on wordpress.com. now ive registered a domain on hostgator an changed the name servers to where it told me to but when im on wordpress.com i go to my “sites” all of them have wordpress.com after them even after ive mapped my registered domain. i still cant change the primary to the registered domain i have on hostgator…

  Set the domain that you mapped from HostGator as your primary domain. http://wordpress.com/domains/
