OK to lose premium plan for mapped domain site?

  Hi,

  Would really appreciate a little help – I have experience with hosting, just not wordpress.com.

  We have a premium plan here at wordpress.com.
  We also have a domain purchased elsewhere hooked up to our wordpress.com site via premium domain mapping.

  We recently moved the website to a different (self-hosted) server.
  The DNS is still hosted here at wordpress.com but we have put in a custom A record to direct website requests to the new hosting.

  Our premium plan is about to expire, but our premium domain mapping won’t expire for another few months.

  Am I correct in thinking that we can allow the premium plan to lapse, as the premium domain mapping and wordpress.com-hosted DNS are still doing their thing, and that visitors will continue to be directed to our new hosting server?

  Apologies if I’m not using the modlook tag appropriately but I don’t seem to be getting any responses. I’m fairly sure the answer to my question is “yes”, I just need official confirmation!

  Yes, you are correct. You can continue to use the domain mapping without the Premium Upgrade.
