  I recently did a google search of my name just to see what info is out there, and an old wordpress site of mine is showing up but I’m pretty sure I deleted that a long time ago. Any attempt to log back into that account has failed. How do I get rid of it???

  You have to recover the account first. Without being able to access the account you cannot delete the site or make it private and Staff will not delete it for you because you could be anyone asking to delete another person’s site. Account Recovery https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
