old account needs deletion

WordPress does not allow for the recycling of URLs, so if you had a blog and shut it down, that URL (somehtingorother.WordPress.com) is no longer available. The URL never gets deleted so no one can hijack your old blog and do something with it.More information may be found here:

@myriamcreateaustralia the only person who can delete that site is the person who registered it here on WordPressdotcom. If that person has left the organization and did not transfer ownership to another WordPressdotcom account and you do not have access to the correct account, you’ll need to try the account recovery process here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

@dave2swords – Just to clarify, deleted blog names (URLs) could be recycled after a period of 2 years from deletion as long as it does not pose a technical conflict. https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ Here’s a recent forum topic of interest: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/hacked-blog-9?replies=7#post-2896030
