Old Account : This account hasn't been activated yet
-
Hi everyone, I had to create a new account to post this question (Sorry if that’s completely wrong).
I have an older account where I just reset the password.
When I go to log in; I get the message “This account hasn’t been activated yet – check your email message from WordPress.com and click the activation link. You’ll be able to log in after that.”
I looked everywhere in my old emails and I can’t find the Activation email from WordPress.com. Is there a way to request a new Activation link?
Thank you,
-
Hi there,
I see that you have been able to activate the account since posting this thread. Great!
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

No, the only reason I was able to post is because I had to create a completely new account with a different email address.
The account using my correct email address hasn’t been activated. When I try to log in I still get a red box saying: “This account hasn’t been activated yet – check your email message from WordPress.com and click the activation link. You’ll be able to log in after that.”
The account I’m trying to activate has username: monsieurgraphic
Thanks for your help,
-
What is the email that is attached to the account that you are having trouble activating?
I can contact that email address to confirm ownership and then activate the account for you.
No worries in sharing the email here – I’m the only one that will be able to see it, it will be redacting for everyone else.
Thanks!

My older account is under (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Can you delete the account completely? Then I’ll be able to use that email address for my new account.
Thanks for your help,

Hi there,
Can you delete the account completely?
Since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled). For more information, please see this link below:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
Here’s a few suggestions for you if you’d like to scrub the account:
1) Empty and delete your sites:
First of all, be sure to empty your sites of all content. You can find out more about how to do this here:
Next, delete the site following the guide on this page:
Please be aware that this is irreversible!
2) If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block Emails”:
https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/
3) You can also go here to remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This will only leave the username behind:
https://wordpress.com/me/account/
https://wordpress.com/me/profile4) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html
5) While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:
http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/?noclose#about-you
You can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.
Then I’ll be able to use that email address for my new account.
You can change your account email address from here:
https://wordpress.com/settings/account/
Please note that the change will not immediately take effect as you will receive a validation email at the new email address. Make sure to click the link in the validation email to confirm the email address change.
If you run into any issues, you can check out this guide below:

Darnell:
it looks like this issue is creating unnecessary support load.
There is a way for a user to initiate “re-send activation email” but that functionality is hiding behind a bug.please see my other post
