Old Database Files from Old Version of WordPress

  Hi WordPress,

  We have a site that we lost the domain for, but we still have the old database files backed up. We would like to get access to this, but it doesn’t seem possible to import to the current wordpress using these old files. Is there a way to do this? Thank you for any assistance.
