Old deleted site address reserved
-
I create a site saariniemi.wordpress.com and realized that I should have started that from scratch, not under my earlier blog. So I deleted it and started to create a new one, but that earlier name was reserved, so I created a new with address asoysaariniemi.wordpress.com.
I have tried to change the name again back to saariniemi, but WP does not allow it: “Sorry, that site has already been used. Is it possible to release that first name somehow or do I just have to accept that it cannot be used anymore?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello! I’m sorry to tell you that, yes, http://saariniemi.wordpress.com can’t be used anymore, by you, or by anyone else.
As mentioned in the support documentation, the blog deletion page, and the confirmation email that was sent to you:
Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
You can review the process here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
What you can do now is continue blogging at http://asoysaariniemi.wordpress.com.
Should you find the need to start from scratch again, you can do so by following the steps outlined herehttp://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
You can also make your blog private, should you wish to hide it.
Always make site deletion last resort, and make sure that it’s really really really what you want to do.
I hope that helps. Do let us know if you need further help. Good luck, and enjoy blogging!

Be sure to bookmark this support page for Domains for if and when you decide to purchase your domain name. There have been more than a few users who purchased their domain names elsewhere and purchased the WordPress domain mapping upgrade…and wished that they just bought the domain name here, instead.
You can also check out WordPress.com Premium Plans for additional perks.
Good luck!
