old domain

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I recently changed my domain from romaisaart.wordpress.com to romaisart.wordpress.com
I know it states that once changed, I am unable to change it back. However, I was really hoping there could be a way I could go back, perhaps if the original website was deleted so that I could use it? It’s just that the website no longer matches my accounts on other social medias, and I was unable to change those as romaisart was already taken. This would be greatly appreciated

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi romaisabhatti05,

It is clearly mentioned in the support guide it is impossible to revert back to old wordpress.com address once you change it.

    Change a Site Address

I don’t think that is happening.

I suggest you to register a custom domain if you really want that address.

    Hope this clarified,
    Nigel

  • Hi there,

Website URLs never contain the @ symbol, as that symbol is reserved for use in email addresses only. I’ve edited your post above to show the addresses in the correct format.

It is not possible to reverse a site address change.

Had you contacted us a few days sooner, we could have undeleted romaisaart.wordpress.com for you, and then helped you move your content back to that site manually instead. But we can only undelete a site for 30 days, and you made the site address change which deleted that address more than 30 days ago.

So at this point it’s no longer possible to reactivate just theromaisaart.wordpress.com address either.
