old domain not used

  Hello,

  I would like to change the name of my domain to https://howtotech.wordpress.com but someone already taked it.
  This wordpress website is inactive since 2008 and there is no activity from the beginning.

  Is it possible to make a request to delete this old website or change the name ?

  Hello! There is no expiration date on WordPressdotcom sites regardless of the date of the last entry. You can see if the current owner is willing to transfer ownership of the site to you by leaving a comment in an open comment or contact form. If they answer positively, you can point them to this support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

  If they do not answer or answer negatively, nothing further can be done.
