old domain, stand by till new site launch

  Id like to create a WP site with a domain name I already own (hosted elsewhere), but I only want to go live when my new site is ready.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  If you like to use a domain name that you already own, you will need to set up domain mapping on your site. To set this up, you will need to purchase an upgraded WordPress.com plan.

  Once you have mapped the site, you can go to My Site -> Settings, and find Privacy. From there, you can make your site private until you’re ready for it to be launched.
