Old editor

Is there any way to convert back to the old editor, not just use the classic block? I absolutely hate this editor. Blog posts that used to take a few minutes are taking me almost an hour.

You can’t get rid of the Block Editor as it’s the new wordpress editor with a lot of more possibilities. The Classic editor will only be maintained during a limited period but will no longer be updated. After a while you will be missing a lot of new features.
If you still want to use the Classic Editor:- use the Classic Block, https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
- The Classic Editor is also available in WP Admin — the classic WordPress dashboard, https://wordpress.com/support/dashboard/

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the links above but still couldn’t find any way to access the old editor. I’ve always considered myself very tech savvy but I just cannot work with this. I guess I need to find another blog hosting site!

The instructions relating to using wp-admin to get the classic editor are always the same and leave out a few steps. I was also in the dark for a while but eventually figured it out.
1. Click on My Sites in the top left corner of a WP page.
2. A sidebar menu appears. Click “Posts”.
3. You will see a list of existing posts which you can edit by clicking on whatever one you choose. In the left sidebar there is also an option to “Add New” if you are starting fresh.
4. Once you do either of the above, you can use what appears to be the Classic Editor.I don’t know why they do not spell this out more clearly. I hope this helps.
