Old editor, please! I beg of you!
-
I’ve been avoiding the new editor for months now, always clicking on the link “use old editor” or whatever it said. It was convenient for me. I liked it, the old editor. It was easy, it was familiar, it was somehow more organised.
OK, I’ll admit that perhaps there are users out there that like the new editor, the “beep beep boop” one. They’ve complaint about the old, seemingly “messy” editor and wanted something new and fresh. I respect that. Everyone has there own order and chaos.
But I want the old editor back, please! I beg of you!
The other day I logged in to my WordPress blog (which feels I’ve had for ages and frankly, it’s a daily must) and went on to write a post and found myself beep-beep-booping into the new editor. You know? I gave it a try, I said to myself, “let’s not dismiss it completely without even having the experience,” but I’ve already had my experience. I’ve had a week’s worth of bloody disappointing experience. And I’m done with it!
I’m completely useless with the new one and it makes my writing experience too difficult and too messy – and too frustrating. I have to move all over the screen when I hadn’t before.
Keep the new editor for those who prefer it! But at least GIVE ME THE OPTION to use the old one! PLEASE! I’ve had enough of this stupid, useless beep-beep-booping around to write!Kindly and sincerely,
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello galois,
Thank you very much for your reply…
But the thing is, I didn’t have to do that before (Dashboard > Posts > Add New). We all had the lovely pencil icon on the upper right corner that directly took us to the posting section. And that was great. If I’m not wrong, it has always existed and I’ve always used it.
Now I’m forced to relinquish that comodity and hover over the screen running through the menu just to do the simplest of things: write! One click and I was there, writing (just so can understand me). Now, what I’d like is either (a) set an option in Settings that would make the new editor or the old editor a default in my blog – so it’s up to the user, or (b) give me back the bloody link that existed a week ago in the new editor which would redirect me to the old one. It’s as easy as that! I’ve been doing it for months! Why has that changed now?
If the developers are not going to take in account our opinions about the matter, I’ll have no other choice than to Dashboard-Post-Addnewing my way to post. But I’m not going to keep quite if there’s a chance that thing can go back to the way they were… Bloody hell!
Again, galois, thank you.

HELP! The new editor is rubbish. Every time I try to make changes or add new pages the formatting is all over the place. WYSIWYG is meant to be just that. The new editor fails to provide proper WYSIWYG. How do I get the old editor back?

Is there some decent user help available for any of the editors? They all seem a bit clunky when it comes to inserting pictures and text. I can’t seem to find any settings that would help and sometimes pictures can be inserted between text and at other times you have to insert a lot of carriage returns to get the text in the right places. It can get very frustrating at times.
