Old employee didn't give us login to our website
-
Hi there,
I would prefer to email customer support, but I haven’t been able to find out where that would be. Anyways, we recently let go of an employee and she only gave us the password for our wordpress and not the username or email she used. We have tried almost every email and username with the password imaginable. We would like to access the site to be able to update it. Let me know what is needed to gain access to our website. Please advise, thanks.

Hi there,
I have tagged staff with your query.
Here are the steps to get you started:
First, you will need to provide the website URL in question.
Then, follow this link to get you started with the account recovery process:
Good luck!

Hi there,
We’ll need to know the address of the site you’re trying to access to help with this.
Also note we can only help with sites that are hosted on WordPress.com.
If you have a WordPress site hosted elsewhere, you’ll need to contact the hosting provider for help with this.

That site is not hosted with us, but with Networksolutions.com. Please contact them for help with this.

Thanks for checking, she logged in to word press often and referred to it when making a change…sfsolano.org redirects to the URL http://www.sanfranciscosolanorsm.org–could this be it?
Thanks

We know for sure she used wordpress, but we cannot access her email so I cannot get the transaction ID/etc because first off we don’t know what email it was created with and don’t have access to her email. We have utility bills and etc though. We believe it is sanfranciscosolanorsm.org since that is what sfsolano.org redirects to.

The site is built using the open source WordPress software, but that’s not the same thing as WordPress.com.
We’re a hosting provider for that software, but this particular site is not hosted with us. The sanfranciscosolanorsm.org domain is pointed at Dreamhost.com, so they might be able to help you in this case.

Thanks for the reply,
I’m currently talking with Network Solutions and in the process of speaking with Dream Host.
However, is there a way I can gain access to the word press account linked to the site? We have proof of bills and etc that I can send, I have looked on the form that the user posted above on this thread, but the problem is we do not know the email that the word press account was created with, and if we did we would not be able to access it since it is most likely a personal email address and not a company email. The solutions on there don’t seem to help if I do not have access to the original email.

In order to recover a WordPress.com account, we require the proof of ownership that is outlined on the recovery page:
Thanks for understanding that for the protection of our users, this is not something we can make exceptions on.
As kokkieh has mentioned, neither site listed is using WordPress.com.
There’s 2 different versions of WordPress. WordPress.com is a managed environment. Your site(s) are using the open source, WordPress installation and help for that comes from the forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Have you been able to reach the previous employee that used to work on the site?
