Old Employee / Lost Website

  A long time ago, someone who worked for us named David Ramirez set up our websites. He has long since left the company. Our domain registration expired on 10/18. We renewed the registration, but the website is still not coming up. Evidently, I should be able to access the admin panel by going to ‘apexdevco.com/wp-admin’, but nothing comes up when I go to that site.

  I have no idea what to do next, haha. Please help!

  Hi there:

  We are unable to help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with a different provider on a separate host, and we’re unable to provide support. But I can get you pointed in the right direction.

  Since the domain expired and you were able to recover it, the domain nameservers would have been reset.

  Looking at your domain’s DNS history, it looks like you used to have Siteground nameservers.

  You would need to update your site’s DNS to point back to Siteground and that should fix the issue. You may want to contact Siteground support if that doesn’t resolve the issue. Note that DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate, so you won’t be able to log back in immediately.

  Hey there! Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

  We used to use Siteground, and Siteground is where we renewed the domain. Unfortunately, I can’t access the dashboard and settings by going to “apexdevco.com/wp-admin” like I used to. The website is just blank and nothing loads.

  Do you know where I can go to make this change?

  Hi there,

  To clarify, you would not be able to access your site at that address because the root URL (apexdevco.com) is not functioning correctly. It appears to be expired from what I can see here: https://gwhois.org/apexdevco.com+dns.

  Siteground may assist you by setting up a temporary or “staging” address to allow you to see the contents of the site as they have them on their server, which only Siteground would be able to help with.

  We are not involved with your domain or hosting (they both appear to be with independent providers), but I hope this points you in the right direction!
