Old provider refuse to change server names

  I have domain and website with magix.net . It has been just renewed. I asked to delete website and cancell server names to change for my new blog with wordpress , they refuse , saying they will give me auth code when subscription ends (April 2016).
  I registred domain name cobaltoart.it on wordpress yesterday and already paid 13 Euro . What should I do ? Register a new domain and pay 18 $ ?

  Hi there. If your domain registrar won’t let you change your domain’s name servers I don’t think there’s anything WordPress.com can do about it.

  I’ll tag this for staff to follow up regarding the mapping upgrade you already bought, and maybe they have advice regarding your domain as well.

  I looked at the support documentation for magix.net, and I don’t see a way for you to keep your domain registered with them and point it to your site here. I don’t belive they can force you to wait until the end of your contract period to transfer the domain to another registrar, but you’d have to work that out with them. WordPress.com also can’t accept incoming domain transfers, so if you did transfer the domain you’d have to transfer it to a company that accepted incoming transfers and then point it to your site here using domain mapping.

  Is there a custom domain other than cobaltoart.it that would work for you?

  If so, I recommend we remove and refund the domain mapping subscription you purchased and then you can register a new domain.

  Thank you so much for your help. The best thing , I think is register a new domain. I would like cobaltoart.com if its available . Do I have to go back on my site to register ?
