Old site dissapeared

    Good morning,
    I had a site called freezerdatamanual.com
    However a few days ago the site was offline. I thought it might be about some payment issues, so i renewed a subscription.

    I clicked the button that says i already have a domain. I entered my domain and made the payment.

    However i now have a domain called: freezerdatamanual.wordpress.com

    Without any content.

    Can you please help me get the old site and domain back?

    Hi there!

    To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

    Since your site is not hosted with us, we’re limited in what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.

    It looks like your site was hosted with Bluehost and the domain was also registered there. What you purchased here was a domain connection upgrade, which does not restore your site or domain (since it’s not hosted here).

    I would recommend reaching out to Bluehost support as soon as possible and they can help you recover your expired domain and get your site back online.

    I would also recommend canceling and refunding the upgrade you purchased here – since your site is not hosted with us, you don’t need this purchase. You can do so from your account purchases page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

    Note you have a WordPress.com user account because Bluehost created one for you when you created your site in order to activate the Jetpack plugin, so you would need to keep the user account, but once you cancel and refund the Personal plan, you can delete the free WordPress.com site freezerdatamanual.wordpress.com you created by following these steps:
