Old Site Format – Help!

  • Unknown's avatar

My husband and I have taken over our church website, which is hosted by WordPress. The person who set up the site (many eons ago) has a lot of computer knowledge and did a LOT of it in HTML and some other funky formatting. I feel like the site is beyond hope and we should just scrap it for an easy-to-format platform like Wix, so we can pass it on in the future to the office manager. My background is mostly MS products like Word or Publisher, so I would love a way to design our website and its pages simply and easily, like I can a document for work. We want to format text boxes, add pictures, and link to documents, mainly. HELP!

  • Hi there! The address http://www.mountoliveyakima.org/ looks like it isn’t accessible for me right now; but what I can understand from what you’ve mentioned so far is that it uses the WordPress software (which comes from a different website, WordPress.org) with a different hosting company rather than being hosted here with us on WordPress.com. Does the site work if you go to visit it at the moment?

If it’s up and running at a different address, feel free to let us know; we’re happy to see if we can point you in the right direction for getting it updated!

We do also offer a service to help set up the design (which can also be used to migrate a site in to our hosting) if that could be useful for taking the stress out of getting the basic setup done; we’d need to be able to access the existing content for that, but if this could be useful we have more information about it here:
