old theme. Impact by upgrade to 2.5.1?

  I’m running 2.3.1 and an older theme. When I up grade will I have issues with my blog because it is running an older theme that was built around an earlier version? http://www.oral-cancer.info

  So I know there is a difference between a blog like mine that is on a private server and those that get their blogs hosted free. After reading the page you sent me to that is an ambiguous link/answer to what seems like a straightforward question…. or am I missing something here?
