Old username not deleted properly

  Hi wise forum members!

  I’ll keep it short and sweet.

  I originally signed up with the username of mimosaduo. I have since changed that username and would like to make another account (with another email address) with mimosaduo as the username but it says that it is not not available. So it seems as though it was never deleted properly??

  Please help.

  No that ‘s not the issue.

  Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name

  Thanks for the ultra quick and helpful reply.

  It seems a bit of a strange system to not ever be able to delete accounts and to never allow a re-use of a changed or unused account name. Sure one day no one will ever be able to get a user name they want.
