old vs new website

    I already have a website. When I map my domaine name and start to make a new one using wordpress, will my old website still work?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there. Your blog will technically always remain at the WordPress.com address with which you originally registered it. When you buy or map a custom domain, all that happens is that the new address is laid over the WordPress.com address, so if people visit your blog they’ll see the custom address instead. The blog itself stays exactly as it is. See here:

    In either case, the domain name hides your free wordpress.com address (yougroovysite.wordpress.com), and replaces it with your domain name (yourgroovydomain.com). http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/
