Old website – can’t login
-
Hi,
I’ve got an old WordPess blog that I made 7 years ago for a high school project. Sadly I can’t login to the account anymore. I don’t remember what email account I used, but it was probably one that was supplied to me by the school (and hosted on school servers), which I ofcourse can’t access anymore.
The WordPress Account Recovery won’t let me send a message without a ‘proof of ownership’.. which I don’t have.
However, the blog has my personal information on it (full name and picture), which is also the main reason I’d like to regain access to it. I thought that maybe sending a picture of my ID or something might constitute proof of ownership (but the support form won’t even let me send a message without either a transaction ID, 2FA key or activation key).
Does anyone have an idea how I could regain access?

Hi there,
What is the URL of the site in question?
Your name and photo appearing on your site does not prove you own it, as anyone who knows your name and have access to a photo of you could add those things to any website. And as we did not ask for your full name when you created your account, nor for a copy of your ID, we cannot use those for verification either.
The proofs of ownership mentioned at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ are the only ones we’re able to accept. Without those, we won’t be able to give you access to the account.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply!
Yeah, I guess it makes sense that that wouldn’t constitute proof of ownership.Could I get the website removed/hidden on privacy claims instead then maybe?

For that, please reach out via
passwordhelp@wordpress.com. Our Account Recovery team will get back to you with more information. Thanks!
