OLD WORDPRESS ACCOUNT NOT ABLE TO BE FOUND

Third party did a WordPress site for us. We have the SQL code, but can’t sign in with given username and password or EMAIL with trying the “Lost Password?” option! Third party will not answer phone. Supposedly the site was hosted on GoDaddy and then was transfered to an inhouse server utilizing a local, static IP address. That modem was lost/destroyed and the IP address no longer exists. But, shouldn’t we AT LEAST be able to Find our WordPress account? HELP!??!?!?!?!?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Since you mentioned that the site was hosted at Godaddy, can you reply with the URL of your WordPress site?

    bkphotozine.com is Available

@bruce… not to confuse the issue, but the URL attached to your brucekeys username doesn’t exist.

We just had someone use MySQL Workbench a few years ago, and they ended up putting the “customized coding” on a paid ISP server with a LINUX Dual Boot Machine used to create it. But, we have the notepad document with ALL the coding to customize the site, but we are not SUPER computer people, and are trying to find the OLD wordpress username and password that made it work. It did work a few years ago, and this account was one we made up just to start over, but want the customized template back so we can have it up and running.

Basically, someone was paid to customize and make this blog UNIQUE and had it kick butt, and then decided to stop answering phone calls and stuff, and has never given us back the info for the stuff THAT WAS PAID FOR. The ISP used for the old MySQL Workbench program isn’t even the one used anymore, and we honestly have no idea how to run it.

  • Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your reply, and I’m sorry to hear about that.

I’m afraid we won’t be able to help in this instance since we only support the free sites hosted at WordPress.com, and brucekeyes.com is a self-hosted site, which we really can’t help with.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.

As for using the “Lost password” feature, if you were trying that with WordPress.com in the URL, that would only work if your site was hosted at WordPress.com.
