Old WordPress Blog Deletion Request
-
Hi There!
A while back when we were first starting, we created a Girlnetic blog using this platform which exists at https://girlnetic.wordpress.com/. However, we have evolved from that blog and while we still use the WordPress platform, we are hosting our website under our own domain name and provider. We would like to delete this old blog but since it was created a long time ago, I don’t remember the username/password associated with this blog to access the dashboard and do it on my own. Is this something you can assist me with?

Hi there,
That’s a tricky one :) One of Happiness Engineers could assist you with that as they can access all the admin panels, however they are having their Grand Meetup as far as I understand.
Anyways I will tag this with #modlook and you will get help at some point. Hope it’s not a problem to wait, since well, you know, it’s been up there for quite a while anyways :)

re: deleting sites
All sites are independent. What you do on one or to one has no impact on any other site. To delete a WordPress.COM hosted site you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site. The guide is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ note the alternatives provided there.
Prior to deletion warnings are issued. Deleted wordpress.COM blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
https://wordpress.com/settings/delete-site/NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com
*Replace “NAME_OF_BLOG” with the actual name of the blog in the URL above.
If you are not logged in under the correct WordPress.COM username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with the actual blog’s name in that URL.
I recommend bookmarking that link or memorizing it.
You can update your email address here https://wordpress.com/me
If you are not logged in under the correct WordPress.COM username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
If you did not register the site under your username account and do not have the required access, then you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it, and have them act or transfer the site to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
If the login information has been lost go to
https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#lost-passwordIf you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successful gaining access to the blog(s) then you must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.
Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

I would like to respectfully request that you do not just tag threads with modlook for Staff follow up. If you do not have correct and complete answers please do not post into threads.
As you can see in this case adding a modlook tag would be a useless waste of jonaliza’s time and of Support Staff time.
Thanks, in advance for listening. It will be appreciated.
